St George's Day challenge cancelled
Decided to forget about my St George's Day challenge as I've had no entries. Hope I didn't upset anyone, wasn't meant to upset you. Just thought I'd raise a bit of patriotic pride in good old England. Oh well. Never mind.

St George's Day

If you want to see St George's Day celebrated as a national day please visit the above cause on Facebook. This is something I feel strongly about.
St George's Day Challenge
I've got a two part patriotic challenge for you.
We English don't seem to celebrate St George's Day (23 April).
The Welsh celebrate St David's Day (1st March), Irish celebrate St Patrick's Day (17th March) and Scots celebrate St Andrew's Day (30th November). So why don't we? Not enough is made of this patriotic day, which I think should be a holiday or at least noted by the powers that be.
So, first part of the challenge, do something English on St George's Day! Even if it's only to wear red and white, or fly a flag from your car window. Do something. Let people know you're proud to be English and not afraid to show it. Post pictures on your blog for others to see. There will be a prize for the most original celebration, nothing rude please!! I will ask my son Tim to choose the winner.
Second part of the challenge is to make something patriotic. You can do anything you like but the red cross on white background flag must be in there somewhere. Again, post pictures on your blog. Leave me a comment on this post so I can visit your blog and have a look at your creations and celebrations. There will be a prize for the winner which I will get my daughter Emily to pick from a hat.
Winners will be picked the day after St George's Day, 24 April. I will find something suitable as 2 prizes for the winners. Enjoy.
